Why I’m a proud UC-METC Student!

I am Jocer O. Ebero a proud University of Cebu – Maritime Education and Training Center Student because, UC-METC is one of the good school in Cebu City. Their equipment are complete like their bridge, plotting area, radar. They have also the kinds of compass like Magnetic Compass, Gyro compass. The instructor of this school is also good. They teach the student about the techniques  and idea to become a good seaferer.

I learned a lot from this school.This made me so proud of UC-METC. I remember my first day in UC-METC that was June 8, 2015. In that day, I encounter some of their instructor. I was amazed because the instructors was so friendly and understanding. Mr. Emmanuel Enopia  is one good example.

From my subject Navigation 1, I learn the types of light that they use especially when navigating. I learn also what are we going to do when we are in the ship, or in the port. I learn also the uses of  of ropes. I learn how to use the ropes especially when were going to docking in the port.

UC-METC is a trustworthy school and one main proof of that is the presence of the government scholars of NIGERIA. Nigerians are here to study for their country knows UC-METC can provide good graduates. The name University of Cebu is not only popular in the PHILIPPINES but also in other country.

The big heart of University of Cebu President, Atty. Augusto W. Go made the UC main so proud. He is one of the great personality because of his goodness. Not just him, but also his daughter Miss Candice Gotianuy.

Why Rodrigo Duterte will be my Philippine President for 2016

          As Filipino citizen we are required to choose a leader that we think can hold us. As for me I wan’t to be  Mr. Rodrigo Duterte will be a president for this 2016 election. Because as what I see and heard how he leading the Davao City. Duterte can be safely considered as one-having waded through the intricate corridors of power and met head-on the monstrous challenges brought in by the four horsemen of the Mindanao Apocalypse: MNLF, MILF, NPA and super-though criminals all around him and managed to transform his city at par with International standard in terms of peace & order, government services, liveability & cultivation of human potential. How disciplined people are there. He have no fears to catch the holdapers, the criminals, and the New People’s Army (NPA). I believe that if Rodrigo Duterte will be the President in 2016, Philippines will be become a discipline, peaceful, and successful country. Rodrigo Duterte is a good samaritan. He cares to those people who suffer the corruption of the people  in our government. Lots of people want to have a new President that will help to the poor family to have a good work, to have a good income, and to have a new life. I know that all of the candidates for running president, they want a changes in our country, they want to help poor people have nothing to eat, they want . We can hope that a revolutionary government run by a man who wants complete overhaul has no problem to make drastic measures to accomplish his purpose of progressive Philippines. How strongly? Well, we can hope that it will be strong enough to make it business-friendly without severe deprivation of poor players in the economy.  But I believe that only Rodrigo Duterte can do those things because of his attitude or personality. He didn’t care whose his enemy, all he want is justice of the people who affected, suffered, and died because of criminality. Many people wanted to  win Rodrigo Duterte in this coming election because, like me, many people know what he is capable of doing good to our country. He can stop criminality and corruption, which is one of the topmost problem of the Philippines. The fast spreading of illegal drugs in the country are indeed a serious problem. However, Duterte aptly said that when you have peace and order, people will realize their full potential. Rightly so and the result – people eventually love him for what he has done. As residents of Davao explicitly expressed their love of the Mayor, Filipinos likewise will surely love him as soon as they see the results happening all over the country. Duterte is worthy of trust as iron-handed leader. However he should learn to respect Church leaders especially the Catholic group. This Religious denomination has the biggest number of Voting Populations of not less than 60 percent in the Country. Being a leader, he will just not do’s and do of he might think the good for his country. He also need a person (God) who will guide and bless him in any aspect that he might be doing for the good of his country. But still it won’t change my mind to choose Duterte to be a leader in this country. Rodrigo Duterte to be a President in the Philippines.

My English 2 Experience

       English is very important dialect or language nowadays, to make other people understands us. Because English is our second language and of course our mother tongue are first. We can’t spoke English if we don’t learn how to speak English, proper English. Education is one of this. Education is part on how to learn proper English. Teachers thought us since Elementary up till now in College on how to use English properly.

               College is very far in High School neither in Elementary, because High School and Elementary thought us the basic. But in College they will thought us for what they learn, the purpose of what they learn. They thought us to use it for our future. Because English has a big part in our future, especially in applying for works. We didn’t use our mother tongue to make resumes, and to make interviews and etc. We partly make it in English, that’s why English has big part in lives.

                   One of this are my English 2 subject. At first it was so hard for me to take this subject because I know in myself that I am not good in English. I force myself to adjust, to listen and to study to conquer this subject. This is not an easy thing to do for me, but I really want to learn that’s why I’m doing these. I am thankful that all my journal got a signature from my instructor in English 2, Mr. Gianne Rensen R. Antonio. This signature is very important because it is one way of checking our works. I found things so hard, so challenging and so wonderful.

                         Time came, my teacher decided that of his student shall do or join WordPress. It is so hard for me because I am not really that literate in using computer. I don’t have any idea of what wordpress is. I don’t even know how to join, do, or make an account in that website. My instructor made a decision of making our midterm examine word press. I was sad, worried and even disappointed that time. I feel like things were getting unfair especially to me that has no gadget to be used. I don’t even know how to use computer. But I need to do these things for these our requirements. I need to do this for me to know, to learn and to pass my English 2 subject.

                            The semester is not yet over, I’m looking forward for more additional learning in this particular subject. And I do hope that at the end of this semester, my English writing will be enhanced and get better.

This Life!!

I  was walking all alone,
on a road of rocks and stone,
never did I know where it would lead,
sometimes I wondered, "was it because of my deeds?"

Then came along a sweet little breez,
seemed to me, my whole world would freeze,
for a little while I thought,
that the road I chose was the best one I got.

But danger is an outcome.
How I will going to encounter this life?
How I am supposedly facing this one?
Then came along all thoughts that I thinking,
that many people who are making.

I should encouraged myself,
that in this life no one can help myself.
They can may be my inspiration,
But only me who made this motivation.

The 3 Purposes of this blog ;

to track my daily life. in order to that i have to write someting in this blog  like a diary, i can save my memories and daily events.

to widen our horizons and to help us to develop our learning.

and to prepare us to be successful.

 

 

Being a successful student is not an easy task to achieve. You have to face so many struggles in life to achieve your goals. But if you really want to be a successful, you have to do it in yourself first. You have to be optimistic that you will be a successful someday.

It is like adjusting your self from High School  to College, be responsible in your task to achieve your goals in life. To prepare your self in any problems that you will encounter, like preparing a big cost for the tuition. You have to manage also your time availability, to enables a college student to finish task in an orderly fashion. there is a lot of work to be done and most of it is in college student own time.

To widen our horizon  and to develop our skills, we must participate every activities that will be given to our instructors, we must familiarize the words or thing that can be use in our daily life, specially  when we are already at our daily work  in the  near future.

Every one knows that they have a responsibilities, even if they are student or a citizens in this country. For the student , your responsibility is to maintain your good grade for your own sake, so that you can graduate and fulfill your dreams.

Being  a citizen in this country, you must be proud  of your place. You must be responsible enough as a citizen in this country to maintain what had done our ancestors. We can also help to develop what they had done.

MY SINULOG EXPERIENCE!!!

We as a Filipino, we known as a religious christian. We had a lot of culture, traditions or believing in any saints. We adore and celebrate it in every patron in every fiesta of it. Even though we don’t have enough money for the foods or etc. We still find ways just to celebrate it traditionally.

This is my first time that i celebrate the sinulog festival in Cebu. I was so amaze in this kind of celebration, because you can see how people devoted to their patron. You can feel the love and effort that they give for the fiesta of Senior Sto. Niño.

As for me, whom not a Lumad Cebuano. It is my first time to Celebrate Sinulog. One of the most grandest, most distinguished and colorful fiesta here in Philippines. It is held every 3rd Sunday of January. It is very popular to the tourist  who visit here in Cebu just to see and to feel on how dedicated the Cebuano is, on how strong the faith that they feel to their patron “Senior Sto. Niño”.

I witnessed this all. On how they permanently stay the celebration traditionally. The celebration traditionally lasts for 9th days when Sinulog Grand Parade reveals. Even from the start of celebration the people partly joined until the end. The day before the parade, the Fluvial Procession, a water-parade, held at dawn from the Mandaue City wharf to Cebu City wharf with the Senior Santo Niño carried on a pump boat decorated with hundreds of flowers and candles.

The procession ends at the Basilica where a re-enactment of the Christianizing of Cebu follows. In the afternoon, a more formal procession takes place along the major streets of the city, which last for hours due to large crowd participating in the religious event. People in the church did not go home because they want to celebrate this festival together with the Senior Sto Nino.

There are so many people at that time, they close the road, because of many people attended the procession, and also the fluvial parade or parade. All people was so busy at that time. Some of them attended the mass, some of them busy of taking care of their businesses, and some are enjoying watching the sinulog dance parade. We had an individual or different experiences during that time.

As for me at that night on the Sinulog Festival, I was enjoying watching the fireworks display at Ayala, and after that, we went to Basilca Minore del Santo Niño, the home of Senior Sto Nino. Many people wait for that moment because, their fireworks display was so beautiful.

The Sinulog Festival is one of the greatest festival in the Philippines, that’s why I am so lucky that I saw them all, how they celebrate the Sinulog festival. It was so amazing, that all presentation went good, and all the contestant were doing their best for this program.

This is one of my memorable year, because this year is my first time to celebrate the sinulog festival together  with the Cebuanos, because, i grow up in Leyte, and i came here in Cebu, because I was studying here.

Now I know that it’s more fun in the Philippines, and I’m very proud of being a Filipino. And someday. hope so that I can see also the other tradition in every island in the Philippines. I want to travel in every place, because I know that this country is so wonderful, full of love, full of joy, and full of adventure. I want to explore in my own, because I’m proud that I am part of this wonderful place, the Philippines. I will truly treasure it.

 

Self Introduction!

I am Jocer O. Ebero. 19 years of age, born on November 16, 1996. I came from Balugo, Albuera, Leyte. The hobbies/skills that I have are; watching television/movies, texting, playing basketball, running, swimming and dancing.

I graduated in Balugo National High School, last 2013. I was stopped for almost 2 years because of some financial problems. But now I decided to study again so that I can help my family in the near future. I studied in UC-METC, taking up of BSMT stands for Bachelor of Science Marine Transportation. I took up this course because I want to become a captain in the ship someday.
